Crew phone access
Your crews run the job from a link on their phone
Operators get a text with a link to the job. It opens in the browser on their phone, with nothing to download. They see their work, track their time, add photos, and close it out with a signature.
The ticket is in the truck, and the truck is two hours north
Paper tickets get wet, lost, and filled in at the end of the day from memory. The office cannot bill until the ticket comes back, and when it does, half of it is hard to read.
Apps that need installing, logging in, and updating every month never get used by the crew. So the office calls them instead.
How Dispatch handles it
-
Nothing to install
The job opens in the phone's browser from the text message link. Any recent phone works, Android or iPhone.
-
Only their own work
Operators see the jobs assigned to them and their history. They do not see other crews' work, your rates, or your reports.
-
Directions that work out here
The job location opens as a map link. Legal land descriptions like 14-36-85-17 W6 are converted to a map pin too.
-
A timer on every job
Start, pause, and stop the work timer on the job. If someone forgets to stop it, the phone asks. The hours feed your billed versus worked report.
-
Photos, notes, and expenses
Take site photos straight from the phone, add completion notes, and log expenses with a photo of the receipt for the office to review.
-
Signed in the field
Capture the customer's signature and name on the phone when the job is done. You can require it, and it prints on the invoice.
How it works
- 1
The operator gets a text
Assigning a job sends an SMS with the customer, the work, the time, and a link.
- 2
They open the job
The link opens the job on their phone with the details, location, and anything the office added.
- 3
They do the work
Start the timer, add photos and notes, and log any expenses along the way.
- 4
They close it out
Get a signature if required and mark it complete. The office sees it waiting for review right away.
Fair questions.
Is there an app to download?
No. The job opens in the phone's web browser from a link. There is nothing to find in an app store and nothing to update.
Will my older operators actually use it?
If they can open a text message and tap a link, they can use it. The screen shows their jobs and one main button for what to do next.
Can operators see what we charge?
No. Operators only see the jobs assigned to them. Rates, invoices, and reports are for the office.
Do operators have to agree to get texts?
Yes. Operators give consent to receive dispatch texts and can manage that from their phone. Only consenting operators with a valid number can be assigned by text.
Where do the photos go?
Straight onto the ticket in the office. They are processed so they load quickly and are the right way up.
