Seasonal businesses
Busy season, quiet season, one system that fits both
Snow removal, landscaping, seasonal rentals: the work comes in waves. Dispatch runs your jobs, crews and invoices when it is busy, and offers flexible plans for the low season, so you are not paying full price in months with almost no jobs.
Software that charges like it is always peak season.
For a few months you run flat out: crews everywhere, jobs stacking up, invoices behind. Then the season turns and the phone goes quiet. Most software keeps billing you the same either way.
So seasonal companies stay on paper and spreadsheets, and every busy season starts with the same scramble: who is working, what did we charge last year, and where is the customer's address.
How Dispatch handles it
-
A plan for the quiet months
Dispatch offers flexible plans for the low season, so a month with a handful of jobs does not cost like a month with hundreds. Talk to us about a low-season plan.
-
Last season is still there
Customers, sites, rates and job history carry over year to year. Next season starts with everything you knew at the end of the last one.
-
Seasonal crews, no setup
New or returning crew members get jobs by text and open them from a link on their own phone. Nothing to install and nothing to train.
-
Seasonal contracts billed on schedule
Recurring invoices bill seasonal contracts on their own, with a start and end date that match the season.
-
Book next season early
Send quotes customers approve online before the season starts, and turn them into jobs when the work begins.
How it works
- 1
Before the season
Quote returning customers at this year's rates. They approve online.
- 2
In season
Dispatch crews by text, record each visit with photos, and invoice as you go.
- 3
End of season
Recurring contracts stop on their end date. Every job and invoice stays on file.
- 4
Low season
Move to a low-season plan and keep your records until the work picks up again.
Fair questions.
How does the low-season plan work?
It depends on how your year looks, so we work it out with you. Talk to us about a low-season plan on your demo call.
Do we lose our data in the off months?
No. Your customers, rates, jobs and invoices stay in Dispatch, hosted in Canada, ready for next season.
We just started our business. Is there anything for new companies?
If your business has been registered for less than 12 months, you may qualify for our startup program: basic Dispatch free for one year, with 2 integrations of your choice. It is open to the first 50 businesses, and every application is reviewed. Details are at /startups. Seasonal businesses that have been registered for more than 12 months do not qualify for the startup program, but the low-season plan is there for you.
We do snow in winter and landscaping in summer. Does that work?
Yes. Set up both kinds of work in your catalog with their own rates. The same customers, crews and invoices carry across both seasons.
How fast can we be running before the season starts?
Most companies are dispatching real jobs within a day or two. We set up your services, rates and customers with you.
