Fine lines of pale light running across a cold blue-grey field, like signals over snow

Use case: dispatch by text

Send the job to the crew by text, not a group chat

Group texts work until someone misses the message about the 6 a.m. start. In Dispatch, assigning an operator to a job sends them a text with the details and a link to the full ticket. The office can see whether the text went through.

The details are somewhere in the group chat

The dispatcher texts the address. Someone asks for the gate code. The customer's name is ten messages up, the start time changed twice, and the new hire isn't in the chat yet.

When something goes wrong, nobody can find who was told what.

How Dispatch handles it

  • Assign it and the text goes out

Pick the operator on the ticket. They get a text with your company name, the ticket number, the customer, the work, the time and the location.

  • A link to the full ticket

The text links straight to the ticket on their phone. Nothing to install.

  • Delivery you can see

The ticket shows the status of the dispatch text, and you can resend it if it didn't arrive.

  • Only to people who agreed

Texts go only to operators who have opted in with a valid phone number. They can change that from their phone.

  • One schedule board

The office sees every job and crew on one schedule, so the next assignment is obvious.

  • Status comes back

Operators mark jobs started and finished from the link, so the office knows where things stand without calling.

How it works

  1. 1

    Create the job

Enter the customer, the work, the time and the location on a ticket.

  2. 2

    Assign the operator

Pick who is doing it. Dispatch sends them the text.

  3. 3

    Operator opens the link

They see the full ticket on their phone and start the job when they get there.

  4. 4

    Office follows along

Status updates show up in Dispatch as the job moves.

Fair questions.

Do operators need to install an app?

No. The link in the text opens in the phone's browser.

Does my crew need smartphones?

The text reaches any phone. To open the ticket and update it, the operator needs a phone with a web browser.

What does the text say?

Your company name, the ticket number, the customer, the work summary, the scheduled time, the location, and a link to the ticket.

Can operators stop the texts?

Yes. Operators manage their text consent from their phone. Without it, Dispatch will not text them.

What if the text didn't arrive?

The ticket shows the delivery status of the dispatch text. Resend it from the ticket with one click.
