Operators, machines and site hours, billed from one record
Dispatch puts every operator and every job on one schedule, records the hours from the site, and builds the invoice from what was actually worked. The general contractor's cost codes ride along on every line.
Three sites, two foremen, one whiteboard.
The schedule lives on a whiteboard in the shop. Operator hours come back on timesheets at the end of the week, and the machine hours are on a different sheet, if anyone filled it in.
When the GC asks for a breakdown by cost code, someone spends a day matching timesheets to jobs. When you ask which jobs made money, nobody can say until the year-end numbers come back.
How Dispatch handles it
-
One schedule for every crew
See every operator's jobs by day or week. Multi-day jobs sit on each day they run, and Dispatch warns you before you double-book an operator.
-
Machines and operators priced
Excavators, loaders and skid steers go in the catalog with or without an operator, at hourly or day rates. GC-specific rates fill in on their own.
-
Cost codes on every ticket
Location, ordered by and cost code are fields on the ticket and show on the invoice. Add your own fields for PO numbers or phases.
-
Quotes that become jobs
Send a quote the GC can approve online. Once accepted, it becomes the job with every line already filled in.
-
Which jobs pay
Job profitability and billed-versus-worked reports show where the hours went and which work earns its keep.
How it works
- 1
Quote the work
Build the quote from your catalog. The GC approves it online.
- 2
Put it on the schedule
Assign the operator across the days the job runs. They get the details by text.
- 3
Record it on site
The operator tracks time, adds photos and notes, and marks each day complete.
- 4
Invoice by cost code
Approve the tickets and invoice them together, with the cost codes and tax already on every line.
Fair questions.
Does Dispatch handle safety forms and hazard assessments?
Not yet. Today Dispatch covers the work from quote to payment. Safety is on the roadmap as Dispatch grows into a full ERP.
Does it track where our machines are?
No. There is no GPS tracking. Machines are priced items on the job, so you know which machine billed what hours on which job.
Can we bill progress on a long job?
Yes. Each day or phase can be its own ticket, and you invoice the completed ones whenever you bill the GC.
We use cost codes from the GC. Can those go on the invoice?
Yes. The cost code is a standard ticket field and it carries onto the invoice. You can add more fields if a GC needs them.
